Camillus Resident Mary Anne Cody Receives Vera House Special Recognition Award

Vera House recently honored Camillus resident Mary Anne Cody with a Vera House Special Appreciation Award for her dedication and service to the organization.

Cody, a partner at Mackenzie Hughes LLP, is the immediate past president, and former treasurer of the Vera House Board of Directors. Cody currently is a member of the LeMoyne College Board of Regents and on the steering committee of the Western Area YMCA.

Previously Cody served on the Board of Directors of Aurora and the Greater Syracuse Literacy Volunteers. She also served on the Samaritan Center’s Annual Dinner Committee, and was a religious education volunteer instructor at St. Joseph Church in Camillus. Employed at Mackenzie Hughes since 2000, Cody counsels and consults businesses and individuals on tax matters, financial planning, and nonprofit formation issues.

Cody’s hours of service are also part of the culture at Mackenzie Hughes, which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year. As part of that celebration, Cody and other Mackenzie Hughes attorneys and staff at the firm are giving back to the community by dedicating 125 hours of service each month.

Cody is a member of the Onondaga County, New York State and American Bar Associations, and the Estate Planning Council of Central New York. She holds a juris doctorate from California Western School of Law, a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College, and is also a New York State Certified Public Accountant.
