SYRACUSE, NY – Mark T. Harrington has been elected as a member of Mackenzie Hughes LLP’s Executive Committee.
Harrington’s election to the executive committee is for a three year term, and he will join Steve Helmer, Al Popkess, Anne Ruffer and Art Wentlandt on the committee. Harrington joined Mackenzie Hughes in 1991, was elected to the firm’s partnership in 2001 and is currently Vice-Chairman of the firm’s Business Department. His practice emphasis is financial institutions, including transactional matters as well as regulatory, lending, operational and governance issues for banks and credit unions.
Additionally, Harrington handles general business law matters including entity formation, purchase and sale of small and medium sized businesses, merger and joint ventures and commercial lending. He assists the firm’s immigration law practice group and is frequently asked to lecture on topics such as choice of business entity, limited company formation and new business ventures. Harrington received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1982 from Ithaca College and a Juris Doctorate from Western New England College School of Law in 1989. He was admitted to the New York bar in 1990 and the Massachusetts Bar in 1989.
Harrington is a member of the Arc of Onondaga Board of Directors, past president of the board, and a member of its Executive Committee as well as a member of the NYSARC, Inc. legal committee, the New York state organization of all Arc chapters.
