John M. Nichols

John Nichols joined Mackenzie Hughes in 2024 as a Partner in the Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice in commercial litigation, general litigation, and commercial/residential evictions. John has represented clients in federal appeals court, several federal districts, each appeals court in New York State, dozens of counties, and before state administrative boards. John brings a private/public interest versatility to the firm, having practiced over a decade with a prominent local law firm and more recently at Legal Services of Central New York.

In John’s free time he enjoys downhill skiing, live music, SU athletics, and chauffeuring his wife and kids on road trips. John serves as a board trustee of the Cayuga/Seneca Community Action Agency, Inc., and previously served as a board trustee and vice president of the Jowonio School.
