Ryan practices in all areas of federal, state and local tax law, focusing on corporate tax planning, employee benefits, estate and gift tax, and tax controversy. Ryan specializes in developing creative solutions on high-stakes matters to meet clients’ short- and long-term interests. He has experience representing high-net-worth individuals, and companies at every stage of the business lifecycle, including family-owned and privately-held businesses and national corporations, in a broad range of industries. Ryan represents clients in the formation, reorganization, and liquidation of business entities and tax-exempt organizations, structuring and negotiation transactions such as mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs. Ryan also assists clients in developing and implementing comprehensive estates plans that are customized to minimize gift and estate taxes, while furthering non-tax goals.
Before joining Mackenzie Hughes as an associate, Ryan graduated cum laude from Western New England University School of Law, where he won the award for Best Written Submission in the American Bar Association Law Student Tax Challenge. Ryan is currently enrolled in Georgetown University Law Center’s Master of Laws in Taxation program. In his spare time, Ryan enjoys golfing, running, watching sports, and spending time with family and friends.
